What is CommonLit?
CommonLit is a free digital collection of fiction and nonfiction for grades 5-12 classrooms organized by themes with literacy support resources. It offers a wide variety of both informational and literary resources. All texts are paired with questions that promote student understanding. All lessons are aligned to Common Core standards. Do I need an account?
The short answer is no. But if you want to reap the full benefits of CommonLit, including standards based assessments for students and reports, we recommend you create an account and share a class code with students.

Assigning CommonLit assignments through Kiddom ensures that all assignments are accessible in one place making it easier for students to keep track of all work in one place.

Pro Tip: When you find a CommonLit resource through Kiddom, click preview. If you are not already logged in to CommonLit, do so. You can assign the digital version to students or download the PDF. Return to the Kiddom window and select the assignment to send to students with any further instructions.
