How Do I Unblock Camera and Microphone Access?

Laptop/Desktop/Chromebook Users

Google Chrome users

Open app.kiddom.co and click the settings button in the top left of the address bar (it will be right before the URL):

In the box that opens, check to see if the camera & microphone permissions are toggled on.

If they don't appear, click "Site Settings". This will open the site settings in a new tab. Locate the "Camera" and "Microphone" sections and ensure they are set to "Allow". You may need to refresh your browser after updating permissions.

Firefox Users

  1. Go to app.kiddom.co
  2. Click the settings button in the top left of the address bar (it will be right before the URL):

  1. For the microphone and camera settings, click the X next to AllowedAllowed TemporarilyBlocked or Blocked Temporarily to clear the status so that Firefox will ask again for permission when you next visit the site.
  2. Refresh the page.

Apple Safari and Microsoft Edge Users

Currently, Kiddom does not support the use of Safari or Edge browsers. Please use Chrome or Firefox.

iPad Users

The first time an assignment requests a recording or picture response for a student, the iPad will prompt the students to allow the user to allow the browser to use the camera and/or microphone. By selecting "Allow", the student will be able to use their iPad's camera and microphone to upload media files.

To adjust the microphone and camera settings for an iPad:

  1. Go to the iPad's Settings Menu.
  2. Select Privacy & Security.
  3. Open up the settings for the Camera or Microphone.
  4. You can toggle the camera/microphone setting on or off for the browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
