How Do I Collaborate With Colleagues?

With Kiddom, you can easily add a collaborator or colleague to any class.

If your school is rostered through an integration system like Clever or Classlink, teachers will not be able to add collaborators directly. You will need to get in touch with your school's admin team to add them to your class(es) through that integration. If you need assistance with this, please contact your CSM or our support team at support@kiddom.co.

If your school is not rostered through an integration system, you can add collaborators by following these steps:

  • Open the Classroom tab of the class.
  • Click the Add People button next to the notification icon.
  • Select Add Teacher.
  • Enter your teammate's work email address and select the permission (View or Edit).
  • Then click Add teacher.

View vs Editing Permissions

A settings screen titled

Collaborators, depending on the permissions you provide, can view or edit everything from adding assignments to viewing class reports. This enables you and a co-teacher to work together effortlessly. Please note that collaborators cannot modify curriculum through the Curriculum tab.

A collaborator with “view-only” permissions cannot add or modify anything in your class. This collaboration type is ideal for content or grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and case managers. “View-only” collaborators will be able to see your class and individual student reports, as well as which students have late or missing work.

Collaborators with “edit” permissions can add and make changes to your class. This collaboration type is ideal for co-teachers, special education teachers, or departments where subjects and students overlap. Collaborators with “edit” permissions can create, grade, and leave comments on assignments. They’ll also have access to class and individual student reports.

How Do I Accept an Invitation to Collaborate in a Class?

When the class owner sends you an invitation to join your class, you will also get a notification in Kiddom as well as an email to the address they provided. Click the link provided in the email or the notification icon (bell) in the top right-hand corner, and a screen will appear asking you to accept or reject the invitation.
