How Do I Make Groups in Kiddom?

In Kiddom, you have the ability to form small groups within your class for team activities and differentiated learning!

Creating New Groups

To create a group, navigate to your Classroom page. If this is your first time making a group, click the "Groups" tab at the top of the page then click the blue "Create Group" button located in the center of the screen. If you have already established groups in your class, you can create new groups by clicking the blue "Add People" icon in the upper right corner and selecting "Add Group".

Next, you'll need to give your new group a name. Please note that this name will be visible to students in the group.

Then, select which students you want to add to the group by using the checkboxes next to each student's avatar. Each group needs a minimum of 2 students and will always include the teacher by default. Click "Save" to create the group.

Viewing, Changing and Deleting Groups

Once your groups are formed, you can locate them within the "Groups" tab. To edit or delete a group, click on the group. A drop-down menu will appear with options to View group, Edit group, or Delete group

Viewing a group allows you to quickly see a list of the students enrolled in the group. Editing a group allows you to add or remove students from the group. The Delete group option removes the group from your classroom entirely.

Assigning to Groups

You can assign activities to select groups using the "Assign" flow in Kiddom. When assigning the activity, you can change who the assignment goes to by using the "Assign To" drop-down. Within the drop-down is an option to select groups to assign to rather than the whole class. This is a powerful tool to differentiate instruction! For example, if you have students that need a read-aloud version of an assessment, you can create a group containing those students and assign that specific version to them while assigning a different version to other students within the class.
