Can Assignments be Automatically Graded?

Kiddom has many different question types to help meet the needs of your students.

The following question types can be automatically graded: multiple choice, multiple select, fill in the blank, fill in the blank with drag & drop, ordering, matching, categorizing, classifying, and short answer.

Note: Correct answers need to be indicated in order for questions to be auto-graded.

If an assignment only contains auto-graded questions, please note that you will still have to click "Post Grades" when in the Assignment View to share assignment grades with students. Click here to learn more about how to grade in Kiddom.

How do I change the Question Type?

To change the question type, click under the question as seen in the picture below.

How does partial credit work for auto-graded questions?

The following question types can be auto-graded with partial credit: multiple select, fill in the blank, fill in the blank with drag & drop, ordering, and matching. Teachers can choose whether or not to enable partial credit auto-grading for a question:

Once students have submitted the assignment, you will be able to see any partial credit earned on auto-graded questions as a score under the points earned for the question.

Quiz question asks to select prime numbers. Options are A: 3 (checked), B: 6, C: 7 (checked), D: 9. Result shows 2 out of 4 correct.

If a student does not select an answer choice for a question and submits, then the student will receive 0 points for that question by default.

The final score for a question will be rounded down to the nearest integer, which means that only 100% success leads to a full score. Teachers can always manually override the amount of points earned on a question, and the overall assignment total will be automatically updated at the top of the assignment.

Question asks to select prime numbers. Options A (11) and B (13) are checked. C (13) and D (14) are unchecked. Score shows 2 out of 5 points, with a result of 2/4 correct.
