What Are Kiddom's Technology Requirements?
Browser Requirements:
The up-to-date versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Edge can support Kiddom. We find Google Chrome typically works best.
If you are using Kiddom to take pictures and video/audio recordings, we highly recommend using the up-to-date versions of Google Chrome or Firefox. Microsoft Edge and Safari are not supported.
Hardware Requirements:
Any computer (Mac, PC, Chromebook) is compatible with Kiddom, as long as it supports an up-to-date browser.
Mobile and Tablet Requirements:
Most updated mobile browsers (e.g. Safari, Chrome, Firefox) support Kiddom. However, Safari on mobile devices does not have full Kiddom capabilities when it comes to creating video and audio recordings. We highly recommend using Google Chrome if that is available. Chrome can be downloaded here for iPads.
Site Permissions Requirements:
If you use a VPN, firewall or pop-up blockers, you must allow pop-ups from Kiddom. Otherwise, you (or your students) may experience difficulties opening attachments from assignments. In particular, please allow the following domains, including for cookies and popups:
- kiddom.co
- launchdarkly.com
- tinymce.com
- cdn.tiny.cloud
- cdn.jsdelivr.net
- wiris.net
- amazonaws.com
- cloudfront.net
- cloudflare.com
- voxeet.com
- geogebra.org
- brainingcamp.com
Additionally, some functionality on our site is dependent on websocket connectivity. Please ensure that your firewall or network does not block websocket traffic.
Email Requirements:
The following domain should be added to all allow-lists in order to ensure the retrieval of any email communication: *@kiddom.co
Bandwidth Requirements:
Kiddom only requires the internet. At the moment, Kiddom does not support offline functions.
Bandwidth will not likely be an issue using Kiddom. However, our content partners’ resources include videos and other multimedia content. If many students are using Kiddom to connect to those resources at once, you will want to ensure your school can support this.
