Roles in Kiddom

Kiddom users have various roles that determine the features available to them. These roles fall into four categories: student, teacher, administrator, and editor. Administrators and editors may exist at two levels: school level, where they can modify curricula and access school data, and district level, where they can adjust curricula and see data for an entire district. Generally, all administrators and editors will also have the teacher role, allowing them to utilize all teacher features in addition to their own.

Teacher

The Teacher role enables educators to access their class data, assign and grade student work, and create or edit activities for their students. Teachers can also invite other teachers or administrators into their classes and archive classes when they are finished with them.

School Admin

The School Admin role provides the user with access to view all classes within their school, including assessment data to compare assignments across multiple classrooms. School Admins also have the ability to update user data for the school.

School Editor

The School Editor role grants the user the ability to share activities they have created or personalized with other users in the school. School Editors can set default versions of activities for teachers in the school to use.

District Admin

Similar to the School Admin role, the District Admin role can access all classes and data for all schools in the district. This allows the District Admin the ability to compare schools across the district.

District Editor

Similar to the School Editor role, the District Editor can create and personalize activities and then share them with all teachers at all of the schools in the district. This includes creating district-wide default versions of activities.

Students

The Student role provides students with access to their classes, work assigned by the teacher, their personal data, and the ability to communicate with the teacher and their peers.
